Made in abyss
"In this word, there is nothing as impartial as death. For all living creatures, death is sure to eventually come knocking. Death is an equalizer — it is absolute truth, and it is always lingering right beside us. Nevertheless, people make the best use of their wits and courage. Struggling... floundering... they cling to life until the very end. You see, we actually like this unjust and unequal world."
I have still impressed by viewing "Made in abyss" it is an unbelievable adventure of a couple of hearts who wanted to find answers and yourself. It is so beautiful and horrible at the same time. When I started watching this, I thought that it will be a simple adventure with some drama, but the further I watched the more I found myself on the border between happiness and despair, hope and doubts, light and dark. There is a spectrum of emotions, and that was awesome.
Few about the plot. Little spoilers
A long time ago the mysterious abyss appeared on the island. Many people move there in search of adventures and treasures. They built a town on the edge of the abyss and now the town surrounded it. Mysterious treasures and artifacts are scattered on the whole abyss, and at the same time, there are a lot of different aggressive and strong monsters whos want to kill you and eat then. There is the curse of the abyss, and for some reason, you can not return from the abyss without consequences. These consequences may be different: the deeper you dive into the abyss, the worse these consequences (until death). Nobody could return from the sixth level of the abyss — it is called "the point of no return". Only a few people can return from the fifth level, prepared can return from fourth and higher, but unprepared or others (including kids) can not return even from the second level because they will die. Our main character by name Rika is 12 years old kid. She is an orphan and lives in a guild shelter because her parents have perished deep at the bottom of the abyss. She dreams that once she will become a master and will reach lower levels. Once, on a wonderful day, she finds an unusual treasure in the abyss. It was a robot that resembles a human. The robot can not remember who he is but Rika is sure that he arrived from the bottom of the abyss. She gives him the name "Reg" once Rika gets a strange letter from the abyss which says that her mother may be still alive, and Rika decides at any price to find her mother. But there is a problem if she descends more than two levels of the abyss that she can never go back up from that moment she can move only down. At the same time, Reg wants to know who he is and where is he from. Eventually, they decide to descend together. One of them wants to find a mother another wants to find themselves.

They inspired me, this brave couple who can be able to never go back up, only down... these things make me feel sad. Despite everything they just descend down through difficulties and dangers. How many times have they been in the balance of death? Especially on the fourth level when a monster wounded Rika and poisoned her. When she says: "break my arm bone and cut off it." I wanted to open my window because it got hot. She said so because she wanted to continue their journey even if she has to sacrifice her hand. Then appeared Nanachi which symbolized hope... and how I wanted to hug her. I wanted to hug this little broken toy. And that scene with Michi and Nanachi was genuinely one of the most disturbing scenes... When she broke down and called her "my treasure!" I fucking almost broke. My heart broke along with the heart of Nanachi when Reg destroyed Michi, but I knew it was necessary... Fuck. Yes, there are dark paints however it is so a beautiful story where there is room for love (in a broad sense), friendship, mutual assistance, bravery, and so on. This story teaches us never to give up even if everything is hopeless and there is no glimpse of light.
Honestly, I can understand all citizens on the surface because the abyss is an unknown place and nobody descended to the bottom. You want to know what is there and never mind that you can die. "Longing seizes people more powerfully than poison and more deeply than illness. Once it catches hold of you, there is absolutely no escape. That is quite a "curse," and yet the adventurers all willingly devote themselves to its pursuit. For them all, a life without longing is more terrifying than death itself." I think it is close to me probably that's why I understand them.
What can I say about the setting of this anime? I liked the graphics and animation greatly liked the music because it made especially the atmosphere and I will listen to it for a long time.
To summarize, it turned out to be a fairy tale. I was glad to go along with our heroes into the abyss because the abyss is that all we have left. No matter how strange it sounds, this scary abyss is the last hope for them.
